I <3 Adobe Illustrator

I'm taking a class in Fundamentals of Digital Design, and we're quasi-expected to know basics in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Corel Painter. As Painter and Photoshop are the only ones I've had any experience with, I'm trying to familiarize myself with the other two before the course really takes off. Tonight, I t00bed about with Illustrator. I have a new love.

Using only the pen tool, with a photo reference. (Let Operation: I Wish I Were As Cool as friede begin!)

That is soooo beautiful! And on Illustrator, too! Yay for you finging a new tool to play with, because I LOVE what you can do with it! And it only gets better from here? <333 The blocky, choppy blending of shadows is fantastic and looks so rough palette, almost. And I love the eye area especially.

gah,that's SO grood. i especially like the hair.
there's something about the color and style that vaguely reminds me of a mexican mural... it's rivera-esque! (of course, i know next to nothing about art... that's just the sort of impession it evokes. yes.)

That's /amazing/! I've had Illustrator for weeks, and I can still barely do anything with it. I need to find some tutorials or something, wish I could just do it from my head like that. =)
