Serenity line photos and my newly shorn scalp
Those that don't keep up with my blog or the
abeybaby feed might not know that I got to see an advance screening of
Serenity on the 26th (for which I dressed as Zoe), and the on the morning of the 27th, I got twice the haircut I bargained for. I asked for 3-4 inches, and I got more than 6.
I considered LJ-cutting, but I figure text links are just as effective, so here's what I like to call "Big Damn Heroes and a Really Small Tip."
Group shots:
The first group shot: Me (Zoe), Marcelina ("Jane" -- the alternate female Jayne), Rachel (River), and Cherise (Inara). Well, actually it's the three of them with me Photoshopped in. XD
Together again, with the addition of my camera's "timer" function, but without flash, because I am a moron. Rachel looks ready to eat your babies.
In line! Photo taken by a girl wearing a homemade shirt that said "Big Damn Fan -- Let's Go Be Bad Guys."
Ego:
More flattering picture in the bathroom mirror, because I am vain as a particularly vain peacock.
It turns out that we four were practically the only ones to dress up. There was just one other guy, dressed as Mal. They still decided to hold a costume contest, however, and I ended up taking home an autographed copy of
Finding Serenity, signed by Jane Espenson. I also won a copy of the Joss Whedon biography in the embarassingly easy trivia contest.
And now, the hair. My poor, long, beautiful hair! It used to reach the small of my back, when it was straight. Now it looks like
this. The cut is actually growing on me, but it's still traumatic.
