Men at Arms: Song #2

I've found that suddenly, when faced with finally posting these darn things, my self-esteem plummets. Despite assurances from my mom, my only sounding-board as of yet, I realize just how messed up this song is. Most of the middle is fine, but I'm really disliking the beginning and ending. Mrah. Try to look (listen?) past those parts if you decide to download it.

A few things to keep in mind:
  1. Songs improve a thousandfold with musical accompanyment. I have none. Take me for what I am.
  2. My recording equiptment is limited to the dinky microphone and "Sound Recorder" that comes with every computer. I record in 45-second clips and splice the lot together. Oddly-spaced breaks between verses should be attributed to shoddy editing, rather than bad timing.
  3. This is only an early draft. Many of the lyrics will lose their fiendish, cheeseridden nature and become nifty. In fact, on Saturday I rewrote the intro, making it far less nauseating. It's revolting state now is a testament to how awful it used to be. Arg.
  4. The excuse I always bring up: I wrote this outside of my range. This should be sung by a vocalist with high belting notes -- something I dearly wish I had. Mrah.
  5. Any suggestions for titles will be warmly received with hot chocolate and bonbons.
  6. Any Angua fans in the house -- please don't kill me. This is just one song out of what will most likely be 20. Angua will retain her niftyness.
Erm... I think that's all I have to say. Here's the song (2.4MB .mp3, 3:28), and here are the lyrics (::hearts Alicey::), plus all scene/background explanation.

Please comment. I don't ask for much, do I?

Current Mood: nervous nervous
Current Music: take a lucky guess

Howsabout "Angua Ponders Various Warewolfian Things"? ^^

*sigh* You have such a lovely voice. =3
For that pair of arms to hold me near
Right then, it sure beats paws!

*G* I love that. Very cute.

Any upbeat songs in the works? Both the ones you've posted so far are great, mind you, but I'm just wondering.

Yes, the two I'm working on right now are both upbeat. One features Carrot (and Angua and a bunch of townspeople) and the other features Nobby. ::grins:: My voice teacher had the same reaction. She was stunned that I was capable of writing seriousness. But I promise the next will be upbeat!
