Daily sketch? Wha?

The daily sketch is more-or-less back! Huzzah!

Here's a hand I randomly sketched during a critique in art class. Mrs. McCullough had asked us at the beginning of class if anyone kept a sketchbook, and I felt somewhat proud to be the only one. Har, go me.

And here are the Cyanotypes of Doom. Bah, I hate you, cyanotypes! ::makes kung-fu noises::

Uno -- Japanese maple, 30 minutes (all in direct sunlight, but waaaaay overwashed)
Dos -- Forgot what it's called. Elephant's ear?, 20 minutes
Tres -- Maple, 30 minutes

Oh, and I loff fordanglia.

EDIT: I loff cyanotypes, it's just these three I don't like, because their production resulted in the flooding of my darkroom and the accidental watery destruction of some of my mom's work. Details in the "Cyanotype of Doom" link.

Current Mood: bah, stupid college essays...
Current Music: "But Ere We This Perform", Dido and Aeneas

Wow.

First off, that's an amazing hand. I used to want to be an artist (nothing came of it, fortunatly, I don't need another obsession) and I always had trouble with hands. Also, I know several artists and I know hands are what they always complain about. However, yours is... lifelike and unlaboured. Almost perfect (I don't believe anything can be perfect, so. It's a compliment).

I'm not sure I know what's involved in a cyanotype, but those are very pretty. If you think those are bad... well, you must be a very, very talented young woman (must be--- riight. You ARE a very, very talented young woman).

Life was suddenly wonderful and full of delicious possibilities!

Beautiful hand!

I love your cyanotypes! I wish we could do them in my photography class. But my school's photography isn't very good. Our darkroom is a tiny converted bathroom. And it's not like my parents are actually into art. Well, they are, to an extent. Only because I have some talent in it. They're all about sport. *sigh* What're ya gonna do with those crazy kids?

I love those cyanotypes. Great (although sorry to hear about the developing incident)

I saw some great cyanotypes last week at the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art (the exhibit is closed now, unfortunately, and I've forgotten the artist's name...she is alive, and from Iowa, that's all I know...^^;;;;)

You were the only one with a sketchbook? Those pathetic excuses for humans! Beautiful hand, by the way.

I love the cyanotype effect. The Japanese Maple is very, very neat looking.
