We begin...

I don't suppose I need to write "Testing, Testing, 1, 2, 3", but I will anyway. Supersmoochies to Alicey for giving me the code for a LiveJournal! I wonder how I'll break up my postings... I considered turning this into a Daily Sketch and dumping "Sailor Lincoln" as it's annoying to update. Dunno. Any ideas?

In the meantime, I'll be working on my history paper. Here's a poll question: "Considering the events of the decade, was the Civil War inevitable?" I hope this won't turn into a Lincolnfest. Renata, if you happen to have the picture of us with the Lincoln impersonator scanned, would you mind sending it to me? I can't find mine at the moment. ::rummages::

Current Mood: average
Current Music: "Confrontation" from Jekyll and Hyde

lincoln!

The Lincoln picture is up at http://www.geocities.com/toastlike/ under Springfield ^_^

And the Civil War was inevitable to due irreconciliable differences between the North and South in economies, beliefs, political parties, and a bunch of other junk. Mostly economy. *nod*

Everybody beat me to things, LOL. Ditto Alicey (I've never had dating trouble though. [LOL! Amusing. Dating troubles.]) and Renata, about the Civil War.

civil war

we did that a while ago too:) We're doing reconstruction now, but the other class is already on the gilded age and they always laugh about how behind we are.
Yeah the civil war was completely inevitable. No matter how much they tried to compromise the issue was always there - just pushed back. They did have "irreconcilable differences" and especially on the issue of slavery they couldn't compromise. You either have slaves or you don't. So it would have happened eventually.

Re: civil war

Oh, how I hate the Gilded Age. *growls* It's ever so boring. Well, I mean, it's still more interesting than a lot of other ages. But I've always considered it the most boring epoch of American history. And as a general rule, I enjoy history. *frowls at the Gilded Age*

Yup, that's what I wrote. Muaha. I showed Mrs. Johnson the picture of us with the Lincoln impersonator (I found the actual photo. muaha), and she passed it around the classroom. T'was amusing.
