Young Vetinari

I did some poses for mon_starling over a year ago when Terry Pratchett's 'Night Watch' came out and we were both squealing over the sheer sexiness of young Vetinari. She wanted to draw the scene in which Vetinari simply sprawls into a chair in Lady Meserole's house (we had to fan ourselves), but Mon never finished the drawing, so I resurrected the pose and finished the piece myself. Ya snooze ya lose, Izcovich! XD Hope you don't mind, Moni.

The piano, Oriental rug (Auriental?), and weird chairs are straight out of our super-pretentious living room. In this context, I imagine they're not too far off from the kinds of furnishings Lady Meserole might have had. And yes, I know he's wearing his grey/green/brown baggy thing instead of his Assassin uniform in this scene. I claim artistic license because the uniforms is sexier. And wow, he ended up a lot paler than I intended. Oh well. If you don't like it, draw your own. Muaha!

Illustrator 9. Yes, I'm going back to regular CGing. I promise this is the last one. Or something. Wah, vectors are addictive.

(Oh! And let it be known that jialing and I are the evillest evil people to ever evil down Evil Street. All will be revealed soon in the HP V-Day Project. *cackles*)

Ah my God, that's gorgeous. Completely gorgeous. If you never ever regular-CGed again, just did this style forever, I'd be okay with it because you're so GOOD at this. Man. Wow.

Phew!

Nicely done, Pris! Although the furniture looks almost too realistic -- or perhaps it's just Young Havelock's face is slightly unrealistic, I'm not sure. Until you get to his upper body area, the whole thing looks almost photographic.

Still, wow. Great great work. does darkgreentyger know about this photo? He'd be interested :D

It took me a minute to realize the background wasnt real. thats how awsome you are. And it probably was made worse by the fact that i know what your living room looks like, and so it just looked like you had added the person in.
Awsome job!

Y'know, I may have to hand over Wolfgang and nude one-armed vertical pushups in favor of a beauty like this. Just ... damn.

I tell you, the squealing turns into swooning pretty darn fast when there's a visual. *drools*

Those vectors are simply unbelievable. The pose and premise and your execution of the picture are more than an adoring fangirl ever has the right to hope for... I mean, it's Young!Vetinari pretending to be relaxed! This is taking me forever to write because I keep scrolling back up to stare at him. And you don't have to promise anything about using a different CG style. From what I've seen your artistic license has very good sense indeed.

Heckheckheck . . . WOW.

Your art has always impressed me beyond the normal reach of logic, but this piece simply boggles my mind. The expression on his face--knowing and yet so fresh--is perfect; the position of his hands and the detailing of the shine on his gloves and boots just IMPRESS me so utterly! +calms self+

And The Sprawl. For such a thing merits judicious capital letters; it is The Sprawl. He looks so relaxed . . . and yet all he'd have to do is kick back his right foot a fraction and lever with his thighs and he'd be up and in a fighting stance. That is the essence of Vetinari--utterly unflappable and yet utterly dangerous, and it's VISIBLE.

THANK you for sharing this. +mad grinning+

At the risk of sounding like everyone else, this is truly /amazing/. It makes me feel like crap and inspired at the same time, and that is a feat.

Here I am still trying to figure out how to get things to look right in Illustrator, this program is made for you! How long did it take you to do the rug? It's so detailed..

WAUGH *faints from Teh Sexy*

Amazing, darling. The only thing I would say is to possibly strengthen his facial features - they're very vague at the moment. Put in those gorgeous cheekbones and that lovely hooked nose we all know and love.

*applauds*

Young Havelock

Oh, my!

I'm not a Live Journal user, I'm afraid. I was browsing though Yahoo image search and came across this little beauty. And it is a little beauty!

By all that's holy! The pose! The boots! The little knowing smile! The pallor! From now on, whenever I read "Nightwatch", this will be the image of young Vetinari in my mind. This is just beautiful - the shading is spot on and the figure is added to the background seamlessly. I am very impressed...

You have a great deal of talent - I look forward to seeing more!

*grins*

And in my blurb at the top, I said "And yes, I know he's wearing his grey/green/brown baggy thing instead of his Assassin uniform in this scene. I claim artistic license because the uniform is sexier.", so yes, you have a point, but as the purpose of this image is to celebrate his sexiness, I couldn't help but put him in uniform. :D

Re: Don't hesitate to drool

Here's my DeviantArt gallery. It's updated most often. I also have art on my website, but it's WAAAAAAY old and really needs to be updated.

Thanks for showing interest! Mmm, I really need to do some more Discworld art... You can officially take credit for motivating me.

Oh my...

Nope I'm not a Livejournal user either, just googled for Vetinari pics and got THIS! *glomps*
I mean it's...it's just......blimey. *fans self*
There's not much I can say that will be any different from what everyone else has written, but I totally agree with every yummy comment - his pose is truely fantastic, and the expression!
He has the look of a young Alan Rickman about him...Was that how you intended him?
Ever since seeing that pic of dear Havelock in The Last Hero, I just can't picture him without a sexy little beardy thing, and to me a hairless Vetinari just seems...weird.
Still very hot though, and I love his hairstyle! Keep up the good work! *praises*

Cheerio!
