Wintry Mix!

I finally finished my Holiday Mix! I'll be flocking this in a week-ish, so if you're not on my flist, download quickly!

  1. Happy Christmas -- John Lennon and Yoko Ono
My favourite Christmas song. I'm with Renata: This song makes me cry roughly 50% of the time I listen to it. In a good way.

  2. The Night Santa Went Crazy -- Weird Al Yankovic
Still makes me grin every time.

  3. Chanukah Song Part 3 -- Adam Sandler
Kicking off the "This Isn't All Christmas Songs, Really" aspect of the mix!

  4. Run Run Rudolph -- Bryan Adams
Gotta get a Christmas staple in...

  5. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, etc -- Barenaked Ladies
A blend of several Christmas songs, performed quite amusingly!

  6. Kidnap the Sandy Claws -- Danny Elfman
Come on, if you know me at all, you knew this song had to be on here!

  7. The Atheist Christmas Carol -- Vienna Teng
    Beautiful. Download this song!

  8. The 12.5 Days of Christmas -- Washington University Pikers
A very silly mashup of a bunch of Christmas songs, performed a capella.

  9. Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel -- South Park
Highly amusing, but not a song to play for your grandma. Unless your grandma is awesome.

  10. Christmas Wrapping -- Save Ferris
Huzzah! A song to represent for the Chosen Ones that isn't Adam Sandler or The Dreidel Song!

  11. Oi to the World -- No Doubt
I can only understand one out of every five words of this song, but the chorus leads me to believe it is a Christmas song. And awesome.

  12. Please Come Home For Christmas -- Bon Jovi
Another staple, simply because I couldn't make everything silly.

  13. The Dreidel Song -- Da Vinci's Notebook
Contains the sexiest description of playing "dreidel" I've ever heard.

  14. Mr. Grinch -- Burl Ives
    Fills me with glee!

  15. Chiron Beta Prime -- Jonathan Coulton
Jonathan Coulton is love. You should give him your money in exchange for his music, or you could just give him your money anyway.

  16. River (live) -- Tori Amos
This is so a Christmas song. Shut up.

  17. Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy -- Bing Crosby and David Bowie
    Yes, you read that right.

  18. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas -- Judy Garland
I saw Meet Me in St. Louis for the first time this year.

  19. Santa Song -- Invader Zim
    My bonus track. I'm entertained!

Or download the zip!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS, EVERYONE!

the funny thing is that bing crosby really wanted nothing to do with david bowie. he thought he was a nobody and hated the idea that he needed to partner with a younger artist to reach a new audience. lol

interesting cover of 'christmas wrapping'. they updated the lyrics. the original, done by the waitresses, is my favourite holiday song of all time, though. bah humbug! ;)

There was an article on the Bowie/Crosby song in the Montreal Gazette yesterday, I was just sort of vaguely wondering where I could get hold of it. *smile* And now I can download it when I get home. Thank you.
